Helping Potential Buyers Picture their Dream Properly
As a Manhattan-based interior design firm, we know how valuable every square foot of space is in your home or office. Read on for more space-saving advice.
TIP No. 01: Seal your Stone
If natural stone has been used as kitchen or bath counters or work surfaces, apply a sealant to avoid staining or damage to the surface. A stone sealant is readily available at any hardware or home improvement store and should be applied at least once a year.
TIP No. 02: Roll up your rugs
Roll up your area rug for the summer and send it out for a professional cleaning. Either leave the floors bare for the summer or use lighter rugs (cotton, linen, or sisal). Your space will feel lighter and cooler and your good wool and silk rugs will be all ready for your holiday entertaining this winter.
TIP No. 03: Going green is good for your home, the planet and your wallet!
Save the planet and some money this summer. It is a great time to try CFL lamps in your light fixtures. By the time the fall season approaches with shorter days, you will be adjusted to your new light and will start seeing energy efficiency. If you have a second home or are taking a vacation, unplug your appliances, both small and large when you are not there. They are still using electricity, even if they are shut off.
